The Southern Maryland Kennel Club is an all-breed AKC club located in Southern Maryland. We advocate for the purebred dog as a family companion, advance canine health and well-being, work to protect the rights of all dog owners and promote responsible dog ownership. We also sponsor a two day dog show every year.
Passing of Sue Whaley
It is with great sadness and regret that we share the news that Sue Whaley has passed away following a battle with breast cancer. She passed away on Monday, April 4th, 2016.
Her wishes to be cremated will be followed, and there will be no service. A Remembrance Ceremony was held at the Clubs’ Blue Crab Cluster on July 1 in Richmond, VA.
Sue dedicated her life to the sport of purebred dogs - a longtime respected professional handler of all breeds, a highly successful breeder of Sunup English Foxhounds, and a mentor and friend to all, Sue’s impact on the sport is significant.
The Southern Maryland Kennel Club expresses sincere condolences to Sue’s friends and family during this difficult time. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. As a Friend said "She would want all to be reminded of our loved ones at this time, that it's the dogs that bind us and our many blessings. It's the dogs that are first and foremost. She is loved and will be missed."
